Scammers sometimes pretend to be PetFena, our staff, or a sitter. Here's how to tell the real PetFena apart, and what to do if something feels off.
How PetFena contacts you
•Inside the PetFena app and website (mobile.petfena.com).
•Emails from addresses ending in @petfena.com.
•Notifications and messages in your PetFena inbox and Support chat.
PetFena will never
✕Ask you to pay, tip or deposit money outside the PetFena app.
✕Ask for gift cards, crypto, wire transfers, Zelle, Venmo or Cash App.
✕Ask for your password or your 6-digit verification code. Not by phone, text or email.
✕Ask you to move a booking, chat or payment off PetFena.
✕Message you from a personal phone number or a social-media account to “verify” you.
✕Offer a job, a bonus or a refund that needs you to pay something first.
Warning signs
•A sitter or pet parent asks to “skip the fees” and pay them directly.
•A link to a site that looks like PetFena but isn't on petfena.com.
•Pressure to act fast: “your account will be closed today”, “pay now to keep your booking”.
•Someone claims to be PetFena support but contacts you outside the app.
•A profile, badge or review shown to you as a screenshot instead of on PetFena.
Keeping bookings, chat and payment on PetFena is what keeps your sitter's background check, held-payment protection and our dispute support in place.
If you think you've been targeted
